Golf Course/
Haddington

Haddington Golf Club is a long established parkland course incorporated within the boundaries of a former country estate. The course is set in peaceful walled surroundings with the River Tyne on its North Boundary. Set on 130 acres, the course contains many natural features as well as much indigenous wildlife and offers a challenge to golfers of all categories.

Mature beech and other trees along the River Tyne come into play on the 11th and 15th holes. It may not be a hard test, but very enjoyable for an average golfer. One or two old buildings of interest are dotted around the course.

Haddington Golf Club was inaugurated in 1865, when the founder members were given permission by Lord Elcho to play over Amisfield Park (its present home) during the winter months with summer meetings being held on various links courses in East Lothian.

In 1881, Amisfield Park was let for grazing and the club moved to Garleton Hill, about one and a half miles from the town for a period of more than twenty years before returing to Amisfield Park, where apart from the years of the second world war, the club has had its home.

The town of Haddington lies off the A1 about 18miles east of Edinburgh. It is also easily accessible from Central Scotland.
