Golf Course/
The Irvine Bogside

The Irvine Golf Club, established 1887, is used by the R&A as a Final Open Qualifying Course.

One of Scotland’s gems, offering a traditional links challenge, it owes much of its present day character to the course design of the great James Braid.

Braid, a celebrated Scottish course designer, created a legacy of distinctive courses, characterised by their great variety and interesting use of nature’s assets. Set in a seaside location, the neighbouring Gulf Stream ensures year round golf.

Every hole has its own unique character together with true and fast greens. The course has produced three Scottish Amateur Champions in Hammy McInally, Jimmy Walker and Jack Cannon, who all honed their skills at the Irvine Golf Club.

At 6,415 yards long, with a par of 71, the course has all the attributes associated with links golf, including tight fairways, whins, blind shots, fast and true greens and well placed bunkers, which punish the wayward golfer.

Set in a seaside location, the neighbouring Gulf Stream ensures year round golf, whilst the romantic peaks of Arran present a stunning backdrop to the landscape.
